MNC Undergoing Forensic Audit & Other Stuff

The Federal Government Forensic Audit of the Metis National Council is reported to be underway and it may undercover some of the "going's on" of the people in charge.

Another site Metis Bare Facts, has received a financial report from the MNC of which some pages are posted in the site. The accountant for the MNC, is the same person who is the accountant for the MMF, Bernie Shore. Like others, I find this very odd. I would like to get my hands on that document.

Myself, I am looking very forward to the result of this audit and as a member of the MMF, plus as the Chairperson of the Dumont Local, I would like to see a forensic audit of the MMF as well. Several allegations have been made as to misuse of taxpayer dollars by the MMF, on behalf of the Metis member of the MMF.

It was reported that John Fluery, a long time employee of the MMF and elected BOD member of the MMF received a 40 thousand over payment of wages, plus may have received advance cash for travel expenses. If this is the case, then I will be writing the MMF requested copies of all the travel expenses of John Fluery for the past 6 years. As a chairperson, I have the right to find out how taxpayers dollars are being spend for the members of the local. Guess what, if they refuse to provide me with those documents and force me to the "Freedom of Information Act" then so be it but maybe someone will come forward with those documents for me.

Every 4 year elections? The government who funds the MMF need to do the same thing that First Nations must do, elections every two years?

The AGA's are a joke to say the least. I witnessed a few of them and the voting process is flawed to say the least. No way one person standing on a stage with bright lights in their face can count coloured ballots out of there site line.

I have also heard about voting fraud, that one area was throwing of ballots of one presidental MMF candidate, so the other could be elected. The provincial government needs to appoint monitors and ballot counters, the MMF should not be doing that, then maybe we will have some elections results that won't be tainted with allegations for voting fraud.

The MNC election, lol. Who were the delgates that represent the Metis people for this one? Who decided who the delgates were? If this organization survives the audit, where does it go from there?

It should be an interested Wpg Regional meeting this Saturday. That is where change has to start, which I why I am seriously considering running for the VP position or a BOD position.

I have heard there are two Wpg LMB positions and that thier funding cut so Metis students can't get an education. I know my son called, he is 17, and they told him he has to be a member of the MMF, which he cannot do until he is 18. How much of a run around is that?
